Working with the BBC

The BBC's iconic Broadcasting House

When the world’s top programme makers assembled at the BBC in London, Contented was there to hear what’s on Auntie’s shopping list.

As in all businesses, the audience is hero – and its expectations keep rising. Like all content producers, the Corporation is experimenting with new cross-media strategies and commisioners played us some great radio to watch.

Commissioners have to imagine what the world will be like more than a year ahead. As we gazed into the crystal-ball, we reflected upon the irony of remembering the start of the first world war as troops withdraw from Afghanistan; we revisited the pride of London 2012 as world sporting excellence gathers in Brazil and Glasgow; and the ongoing uncertainty around the economy and the environment.

We’re always keen to receive enquiries from new and experienced programme-makers interested in working with us on ideas that fit our values of responsibility and enterprise.

Managing Director Gerard Davies attended Radio 4’s Spring commissioning launch at the iconic Broadcasting House, last month, and he will be travelling to the new media city in Salford in April to meet the commissioners of BBC Learning and Knowledge.
