Exporting Creativity: Ontente Delegates in Prague

Delegates on the UK’s international employability and enterprise programme – Ontente – have made their mark on the European scene, using digital media to explore commercial opportunities.

Supported by the European Commission, the programme explores how industry can learn from the way other cultures and creative enterprises operate. A team of freelancers and micro-enterprises, recruited from all over the UK, attend a Continental industry event where they develop their professional networks and skills in a real life situation, surrounded by industry professionals, entrepreneurs, investors and advisors.

New International Ontente Adventures

In response to demand from UK businesses Contented is pleased to have secured new international partnerships in Spain, Turkey, Germany and Slovenia, broadening our current range of international placements in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, in the Baltics.

Contented is continually seeking new cross-media talent to support business development for its clients and European co-productions. We’ll shortly be announcing details of UK taster workshops where you can get a feel for the creative learning and development we offer. Presenting Web TV

Throughout the fortnight delegates worked individually and in small groups to develop their organisational, research and technical skills. They interviewed and networked with professionals from the audiovisual industries, ensuring that paperwork was completed to assure rights and monitor their carbon footprint. Back in their hotel, they worked long hours to peer-review, edit and upload the content.

Leading under the threat of cuts

OneWorld’s director Hana Kulhanková shared with us her survival strategies, emphasising the importance of involving your whole team in continual evaluation, and engaging businesses which share your values. Knowing through human stories

Our creative production team were in Prague as part of the Ontente employability and enterprise programme, where they explored innovative ways of raising finance, commissioning content, and the pros and cons of using social media to communicate across borders; intellectual property, diversity and the challenges of working in emerging markets. “The best way to get close to a country is through human stories,” says film-maker Tinatin Gurchiani. continue reading and watch the interview →
