TO ADAPT CONTINUALLY IN a fast-changing world, organisations and individuals need to create space. But the drain on resources of daily issues creates little opportunity for reflection.

At every level staff often feel they are working alone and little personal support.  Business meetings tend to be based around an agenda, not individuals’ concerns.  Time and travel pressures make networking difficult.  Competition and demands for flexibility make managers reluctant to admit their anxieties to peers.

Change is thrust on us more quickly that we can learn.  We need new ways to act and learn together.  This is the purpose of action learning.
