About our Accelerator
The Contented Sustainability Accelerator is a unique business development environment designed to help leaders, managers, consultants and coaches to embed responsibility and generative leadership in their work.
We facilitate confidential peer-to-peer learning groups where participants explore real challenges they are experiencing. Previous discussions have included securing contracts, influencing boards, developing strategy, engaging stakeholders, changing mindsets, and reporting both risk and value.
Alongside the group work, one-to-one coaching and mentoring helps practitioners focus on their areas of interest. Our programme combines an understanding and application of management practices, models and tools within a framework of the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), human qualities identified as required for society to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We combine the practice of inner development with active enquiry into issues of importance to participants’ work. You can learn more about the IDGs in the video linked here.
Alongside practical sustainability and leadership challenges, we create space for reflection, creativity and personal development. Participants are encouraged to consider not only what they do, but how they lead, collaborate and contribute to the wider systems of which they are part.
Beyond the online workshops and coaching, participants may also join study visits and learning retreats exploring leadership, resilience and sustainability in real-world settings.

How you’ll participate
The Sustainability Accelerator is led by senior coach and sustainability auditor Gerard Davies and senior members of the Contented ESG team. Gerard brings more than 25 years’ experience as an entrepreneur, coach, auditor and sustainability practitioner. Together, our facilitators combine expertise in sustainability, leadership development, coaching and organisational change to create a supportive environment where participants can explore real challenges, learn from one another and develop their own practice.
We provide live group workshops, individual coaching, psychometric assessments and self-directed learning resources that help participants apply inner development for outer change in their work, leadership and everyday practice.
Participants begin with a series of assessments and reflective activities that help shape their individual coaching journey. They share challenges from their work and explore them through multiple lenses framed by trusted models. Then they design new ways of addressing the challenge and commit to keeping a simple diary and reporting back to the group on what happens. We cycle through the process five times, each time introducing a new lens, ending with a session to review and plan. Those who complete all six modules may gain recognition from the Institute of Leadership, including a certificate and post-nominal letters.
Selected alumni may also be invited to join the wider Contented practitioner community and associate network, from which we select our delivery team around the world.
The programme is structured around five dimensions of the Inner Development Goals framework: Being, Thinking, Relating, Collaborating and Acting. We complete the journey with a final module, Integrating, helping participants connect their learning to their work, organisations and wider impact.
Before joining a cohort, participants are invited to attend a complimentary Grounding session, providing a taste of the programme’s experiential and reflective approach to learning.

Join the Sustainability Accelerator
The Sustainability Accelerator brings together business leaders, sustainability practitioners, consultants and coaches from around the world who want to create positive social, environmental, and commercial impact in their organisations and communities.
Rather than a one-size-fits-all programme, participants are able to choose dates to suit their wallet and timetable. Whether you’re developing your own practice, supporting clients, leading change within an organisation, or exploring a future career in sustainability, you’ll be supported by experienced practitioners and a growing community of peers.
Through workshops, coaching, mentoring, supervision, reflection, and practical application, participants build the confidence, capability, and relationships needed to create meaningful change in their organisations and communities.
The programme is designed to fit around work and life commitments. You can start with individual modules or create a personalised learning journey. New cohorts begin regularly, with live sessions scheduled around participant availability and different time zones. To maintain a high-quality learning experience, cohort sizes are intentionally kept small.
We believe that committed people should not be excluded by cost alone. Discounts may be available through partner organisations and professional networks, and a limited number of bursaries are available for those who would otherwise be unable to participate.
Participants automatically become members of IDGs for ESG & Impact, the Inner Development Goals Hub hosted by Contented ESG, connecting them with a wider community of practitioners, leaders and change-makers working to create positive impact in organisations and society around the world.
